Neck Pain

Neck pain does not have to control how you move, work, or live.

Neck pain can make everyday life feel difficult — turning your head, driving, sleeping, working at a desk, exercising, looking down at your phone, or even relaxing without discomfort.

You may have been told your pain is related to arthritis, disc problems, muscle tension, nerve irritation, posture, or wear and tear in the spine. You may have also tried pain medication, physical therapy, massage, chiropractic care, cortisone injections, or stretches that only helped temporarily.

At Pain Free Orlando, we look at how your neck pain is affecting how you function and whether a non-surgical care plan may be appropriate for your condition.

This may sound familiar.

You may feel neck pain when turning your head, looking up or down, driving, sleeping, working at a computer, lifting, exercising, or sitting for long periods of time.

Maybe the pain started slowly. Maybe it started after a car accident, work strain, poor posture, or an injury. Maybe it has been getting worse over time.

You may have already tried:

  • Pain medication

  • Anti-inflammatory medication

  • Muscle relaxers

  • Physical therapy

  • Chiropractic care

  • Massage

  • Stretching

  • Ice or heat

  • Cortisone injections

  • Rest

  • Waiting to see if it improves

Some people get temporary relief, but the pain returns. Others are told the issue is part of aging, stress, poor posture, or spinal degeneration, and have no clear path forward.

If that sounds like you, it may be time to take one more objective look.

Why neck pain may keep coming back

Neck pain is not always just a neck problem.

The pain may be connected to inflammation, joint irritation, disc changes, nerve pressure, muscle tension, past injury, poor movement patterns, poor posture, or how your body is compensating when you sit, work, drive, sleep, or simply move.

In some cases, neck pain may also contribute to headaches, shoulder discomfort, upper back tightness, numbness or tingling in the arms or hands, or limited mobility.

Treatments may only help for a short period of time, providing temporary relief, if the underlying issue is not addressed.

Surgery may have been recommended but it is not your only option. Your next step should be determining the cause of your pain and understanding why it hasn’t gone away before deciding on a surgical option.

The traditional route vs. our approach

Many people with neck pain are offered medication, therapy, injections, muscle relaxers, chiropractic adjustments, or told to live with their symptoms until the problem becomes severe enough for a more invasive option.

Those options may help some people. But if your pain keeps coming back, you may want to know whether there is another path before making a major decision.

At Pain Free Orlando, we take time to understand your neck pain, your history, what you have already tried, and how the pain is affecting your life.

From there, our Care Team will help determine whether a non-surgical, therapeutic and regenerative approach may be right for you.

How we help

Our approach is not based on a generic package.

If we believe we may be able to help, our Care Team will evaluate your condition, your level of pain, your mobility, your previous treatments, and your goals.

For some patients, the goal is turning their head with less discomfort. For others, it is sleeping better, driving more comfortably, working without constant tension, reducing headaches, staying active, or getting back to normal daily life.

Before making any recommendations, we will explain what we are seeing, what the next step would be, and whether you are a good candidate for care.

Am I a candidate?

You may be a candidate if neck pain is affecting how you sleep, work, drive, exercise, move, or enjoy your daily life.

You may also be a candidate if:

  • You have tried medication, therapy, massage, chiropractic care, cortisone injections, or rest

  • Your pain keeps coming back

  • You have stiffness or limited range of motion

  • You have pain that spreads into the shoulders, upper back, or arms

  • You experience headaches connected to neck tension or discomfort

  • You were told your pain may be related to arthritis, discs, nerves, or degeneration

  • You want one more objective look before considering a more invasive option

  • You want to know whether a non-surgical care plan makes sense

The consultation exists to help answer that question.

If we believe we may be able to help, we will explain the next step clearly. If we are not the right fit, we will point you in the right direction.
